Volunteer Opportunities
InsideOut Dad Volunteer
Co-facilitating a 12-session curriculum created by the National Fatherhood Initiative in one of six Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) facilities. Duties include working directly with the primary instructor from the NDCS. Assisting in classroom administration and instruction of curriculum. Other duties as may be assigned by the instructor as they pertain to NDCS regulations.

Messages Project Volunteer
Videotaping messages from inmates to their children in one of six Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) facilities. Duties include working with Re-entry Coordinator using videotaping as well as production skills. Working with inmates to prepare documents to enable Destination...Dad to complete Messages Project. Other duties as may be assigned by the instructor as they pertain to NDCS regulations. This may be done on a quarterly basis depending on availability of inmates and institution scheduling process.

Day Visit Volunteer
Day Visit volunteers will provide supervision and transportation for children to and from Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) facilities to visit their fathers. In addition, these volunteers will co-facilitate the visits and provide documentation of the interaction between inmates and their children. Training will be given as to an assessment tool used for the visitation observation. Other duties as may be assigned by the instructor as they pertain to NDCS regulations. May work as a husband-wife team, but will always work with another volunteer.

Re-Entry/Re-Unification Team Volunteer
Reentry/Reunification Team volunteers will serve on a five-member team to support a recently released inmate. In addition, these volunteers will assist in addressing the inmate's needs to enable him to reconnect with his children and follow the Reentry Plan prepared as a part of InsideOut Dad. Other duties as may be assigned by the instructor as they pertain to Nebraska Department of Corrections (NDCS) regulations.
