Safety & In-Home Family Services
Ever had problems as a family? Ever run into a situation so overwhelming you needed help from someone outside your family to enable you to keep moving forward?There are literally hundreds of families in Lincoln struggling and at risk of having their children removed from their homes because of problems that seem overwhelming.
A single mom may have lost her job and be in jeopardy of being evicted because she is over 30 days late in making her rent payment on her apartment. A low income family may have just had to choose between paying their utility bill and choose to keep warm or fixing the alternator on their car. The problem is the car was the means of transportation to his job. With no car, he can't work. With no job, there is no food and his children are at risk of being removed from home.
Christian Heritage is now providing Safety & In-Home Family Services to at-risk families and their children. We work alongside families to teach and enable them to take ownership and to solve their own problems.
We work with families in their homes, we visit the children at school and we connect them to services in the community. Our staff members, "Family Partners," build relationships with the family, identify their strengths and together seek the knowledge, skills and supports services they need.
Our goal is to strengthen families and enable them to stay together. The specific services we provide include:
1. Drug Screening & Testing (DST)
2. Intensive In-Home Supervision
3. Intensive Family Preservation
4. Parenting Education & Skill Building
5. Parenting Time
6. Respite
