We are excited to announce that Christian Heritage is helping host the Empowered to Connect Rewind conference this year April through May 2020!  Empowered to Connect Rewind is 11 hours of content presented by Show Hope and featuring Trust-Based Relational Intervention methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development. This conference helps bring attachment and connection in families.

Here is a personal recommendation from Megan, a Christian Heritage foster parent:

"Empowered to Connect the last two years has had a profound impact on my view of kids in foster care and the tools I use to understand and address behaviors through the lens of trauma. The speakers have hands on interaction with kids in these trauma circumstances and with trauma backgrounds. They effectively communicate both the clinical reasons their brains respond how they do and the emotional effect it can have on their lives. What I loved most is the practical application I took away that could be implemented in my real life context. The Empowered to Connect conference will leave you feeling just that, empowered to connect, with your adopted, biological, or foster kids. The time spent is an investment that you will see a return on. I cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to it each year!"

Please feel free to share this event with any families, co-workers or other community partners who may be interested.
