Care for a Child

CARE FOR A CHILD

There are children in our neighborhoods, our cities and our state that don’t have a safe place to sleep tonight. We believe every child deserves a chance. Every child deserves a safe place to sleep. Every child deserves a family. Learn more about our Families Together and Foster Care programs below.

May God be asking you to stand in the gap for a child in need of Hope?

PREVENT NEGLECT & ABUSE

Support the parent in-crisis

FAMILIES TOGETHER

We seek to PREVENT child neglect and abuse by supporting the parent in-crisis. Oftentimes, the parent is struggling with drug or alcohol abuse or is fleeing domestic violence and needs short-term support for his or her child. Our Families Together program matches Journey families with a short-term, loving home for the child while the parent in-crisis receives the support he or she needs. Journey families are trained and supported through partnerships with area churches and focus on providing a short-term safe and loving environment for the child without state contracts and before DHHS needs to intervene. Provide a Loving Family

FOSTER CARE

When a child is removed from home due to abuse or neglect, we place the child with a foster family. We follow a time-tested, proven process that matches the needs of each child with the right family, minimizing additional trauma a child may experience when he or she bounces from home to home. Our foster families are uniquely trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention or TBRI®️, an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.

When a child is placed in a Christ-centered foster family and begins to experience God’s love firsthand, he or she can’t help but be molded and shaped by that love.  Our ultimate goal is to restore the family of each child, whether through reunification with a biological parent, permanency or adoption.
