Hugo Orellana is pastor of Iglesia Calvary Ministerio Hispano in Lincoln. He was born in Zacatecoluca, La Paz, El Salvador and was saved at the age of 18. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the National University of El Salvador. In 2001, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he and his family have been serving the Lord in various local churches.
Throughout the years, Pastor Hugo has served and supported Latino community members. He has been employed by Lincoln Public Schools since 2011 as a Spanish bilingual liaison; through this job, he serves immigrants and refugee families from Latin America.
Pastor Hugo dedicates his life to serving God and has a passion for helping people in need. He connects students, families and community members with organizations in Lincoln that provide assistance and services. In 2013, he received the Hispanic Heritage Month Humanitarian Award for outstanding service to Latino students and families in the Lincoln community. He also was honored by the Nebraska Latino American Commission during the seventh annual Hispanic Month State Commemoration at the State Capitol.
Hugo has volunteered on numerous missionary teams and has traveled to Mexico and other locations to share God’s love and the good news of the Gospel.
Pastor Hugo and his wife, Janet, are the parents of Alex, Edgar, and Mency.
