Tawnya was raised in Benkelman, and most of her family is in Nebraska. She has a bachelor’s degree in home economics, with a major in Human Development, and a master’s degree in science, with a major in Positive Youth Development.
She enjoys sports, particularly football (“Go Big Red!”), spending time with her two nephews, going to movies, and hanging out at a coffee shop. She loves vanilla latte at Starbucks and practically anything chocolate. Her favorite book is The Kite Runner and her favorite movie is Father of the Bride, the one with Steve Martin. She has done a "fourteener" in Colorado, which means that she has hiked up and down a 14,000-foot mountain.
What motivates Tawnya? “I just love youth and learn more from them then I have taught them,” she says.
Alexandra was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and lived there until she was 13, with the exception of one year in Arvada, Colorado. She graduated from Grace University in Omaha with honors, obtaining a bachelor of science in psychology.
Allie is the proud mama of Amiia and wife of Jerry. She also has three fur babies: Luke the dog, Kitzy the cat, and Pooh the guinea pig. She loves Indian food and is a regular at The Oven in Lincoln. She enjoys traveling to see new places, reading, writing, and outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, target shooting, hiking, and gardening. A bookworm, Allie prefers books that can strengthen her to help others. Three favorites are Daring Greatly by Brené Brown, Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend, and The Whole Brain Child by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson.
"When all you have is God, you have all you need," she likes to say. She is a firm believer that God’s children are the tools in His tool belt. We have specific strengths and gifts God has blessed us with to bring glory to His kingdom. Each tool has a function and one is not greater than another as they are all needed. This motivates her to view every day as a blessing and to complete her work for the glory of our Father.

Emma was born and raised in Grand Island and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan with a degree in social work and a minor in family studies. She began at Christian Heritage immediately after graduation in May and married her best friend, Josh, in June. As a huge fan of the movie Steel Magnolias, she had a red velvet armadillo cake at her reception!
In her spare time, you can find Emma spending time with Josh, out on the lake boating with her family, around a campfire with friends, or cuddled on the couch with a good book. She loves chocolate-covered blueberries and Colorado peaches—but they must be in season and fresh! Josh and Emma attend Christ Lutheran Church.
Emma is motivated by her desire to be the hands and feet of God, “to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly,” as stated in Micah 6:8.

Gabrielle grew up on a farm in Iowa for ten years before moving to and being raised in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, for most of her life. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Minor in Communication Studies. She went on to get her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she graduated in 2018.
Gabrielle comes from a large family with seven siblings. In her free time she likes to visit her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephew. She also loves spending time with her husband, Spencer, whom she married in August of 2018. She loves coffee, pasta, and anything sweet. On a cold day you can find her cuddled in a blanket reading a book with some coffee or hot tea. On a warm summer day you can find her hammocking in a park with her friends and husband.
Gabrielle is motivated by her faith, her church community, her husband, her family, and her passion for children having a safe and loving home where they can flourish. She loves the first part of the Serenity Prayer: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
Jami was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She has lived in Lincoln her whole life except for a short stint in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she earned a degree in Biology from Oklahoma State University. She bleeds Husker red through and through but also cheers for her Pokes on game day!
Her favorite foods include strawberries, homemade bread, Val's pizza and really good beef brisket (she misses southern BBQ).
Jami is a mom, so a lot of her free time is spent playing and reading with, chasing after and enjoying her daughters. She also enjoys being outside, camping, reading, walking with her dog, spending time with friends and family, and learning new things. She says that picking a favorite book would be like trying to pick a favorite child, but she did name The Sandlot as her favorite movie.
Jami has eight nieces and nephews and loves spending time with them; unfortunately they live on opposite ends of the country and she is stuck in the middle. Her dog is an 11-year-old Great Dane mix named Asher.
One of Jami’s favorite sayings is from Andy Stanley: "Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone." Since high school she has had a passion for serving others specifically through mission work locally and on the foreign field. She has been blessed to travel to Kenya, Mexico, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic to come alongside some amazing men and women serving their communities and making a difference in their part of the world. She desires to do the same thing with her life wherever God chooses to place her. She is excited to see what God has in store for the next part of her journey at Christian Heritage.
A native Lincolnite, Liz received a BA in psychology from UNL. While in college, she lived in Mongolia for three months and absolutely loved it.
In her free time, Liz loves to watch baseball and football, run, and hang out with her roommates. Her favorite food is “anything with lots of carbs in it.” She loves superhero movies, and she lists Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller, Hind's Feet on High Places, and classics as her favorite books.
Liz is motivated by her love for kids and her desire to make a positive impact in their lives. Her favorite saying is, “Be assured if you walk with Him and look to Him and expect help from Him, He will never fail you.” ~George Muller
Mary Beth Himmelberg
Mary Beth was born and raised in Hastings and moved to Lincoln to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University, majoring in social work and sociology with minors in criminal justice and psychology.
Her favorite book as a child was called Ten Items or Less, which might be where her love for shopping comes from. With three (and soon four) young children at home, she continues to enjoy children's books; some of her favorites include Hooray for You and I Love You So. In addition to reading, Mary Beth likes iced coffee and watching movies such as Father of the Bride.
When asked what motivates her at work, she replied, “I hope to assist in finding the forever home for any child in need of one.”

Stephanie grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan.
She likes spending time with family, friends, and especially her husband, Zach. She also likes chicken and rice, the book Blue Like Jazz, and the X-Men movie. Her favorite quote is: “People often say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have dared not to look, including inside ourselves” (Salma Hayek). An interesting fact most people don't know is that she has rods in her back.
Stephanie is motivated by her love for kids and calling from the Lord.
